Payment Information: For Employers using paid features, we collect billing details through our payment processor, Stripe. HopHire does not directly store complete credit card numbers.

Communications: Messages sent through the Platform's messaging feature, as well as any communications you send to our support team.

3. How We Use Your Information

Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or government requests.

4. How We Share Your Information

With Other Users: Candidate profiles and video content are visible to Employers on the Platform. Employer job listings and company profiles are visible to Candidates. Messaging content is shared between conversation participants.

Service Providers: We share information with third-party providers who perform services on our behalf, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (data infrastructure), Expo (app delivery), Anthropic (AI-assisted resume and job description parsing), and Google Places API (location autocomplete). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

With Your Consent: We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Video Content & Data

Video content is central to HopHire. We take special care with how video data is handled:

Storage: Videos are stored securely on encrypted servers. Video data is retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.

Access: Your video profiles are visible to Employers browsing the Platform. Video applications are visible only to the specific Employer you applied to. Video interview recordings are accessible only to the participants.

Deletion: When you delete a video or your account, the video content is removed from our active systems within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before being permanently deleted.

AI & Automation: HopHire does not use automated decision-making or AI scoring on your video content for hiring decisions. Videos are presented to Employers for their own human review. Note: HopHire does use AI (via Anthropic/Claude) to parse resumes and job descriptions into structured data to improve job matching. This processing is performed server-side, the raw text is not stored after parsing, and only the structured output (e.g., skills, experience, job requirements) is retained. AI is never used on video content.

6. Google API Services User Data

HopHire uses Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0) to allow you to create an account and log in using your Google credentials. When you choose to sign in with Google, we access the following Google user data:

Data Accessed: Your Google account email address and display name. We request only the minimum scopes necessary for authentication (email and profile). We do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google service data.

Data Usage: Your Google email and display name are used solely to create and authenticate your HopHire account, pre-fill your profile information, and communicate account-related notifications. We do not use your Google data for advertising, retargeting, or any purpose unrelated to providing the HopHire service.

Data Sharing: Your Google user data is not sold, rented, or shared with any third parties for their independent use. Google data may be shared with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) strictly for the purpose of authenticating your session and storing your account record. No other third parties receive your Google user data.

Data Storage & Protection: Your Google user data is stored in our secure Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL). Access to user records is restricted by role-based access controls. Authentication tokens are stored securely and are never exposed to client-side code or logs.

Data Retention & Deletion: Your Google user data is retained only as long as your HopHire account remains active. When you delete your account (via Settings > Delete Account), all associated Google user data — including your email and name — is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days. Backup copies are purged within 90 days. You may also request deletion by emailing josh@hophire.app, and we will process your request within 30 days.

HopHire's use of Google API data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google data for AI/ML model training, advertising, or any purpose beyond providing and improving the HopHire service for you.
